CADENA DE COBALTO

MARCOS CASTRO X ANFORASTUDIO X CERÁMICA LA MEJOR

Cadena de cobalto is the latest exhibition by Marcos Castro in collaboration with Cerámica La Mejor and Anforastudio. The presentation features pieces crafted with high-fired blue ceramics. The utilitarian objects and intervened mosaic murals comprising the exhibition engage in dialogue to showcase Marcos Castro's heritage and unique visual language.

Throughout his extensive career, Marcos Castro has consistently worked to build a symbolic imaginary with every exhibition. On this occasion, he brings this universe to its peak, presenting a series of pieces that together form a single, cohesive work.

Al the displayed pieces are created using high-fired blue ceramics. Castro exhibits both utilitarian objects and mosaic murals intervened with images drawn from his personal artistic language. His art is deeply rooted in his essence, driven by pure and instinctive ideas that compel him to create.

One of Castro's artistic approaches emphasizes symbolic elements found in myths, legends, and literature tied to the origins of Mexico, its inhabitants, and its territory. Sometimes, his creative process reflects a cathartic transformation, like the one that occurred 65 million years ago when a meteorite struck Earth, causing the extinction of 75% of flora and fauna, including the dinosaurs. This catastrophe, in turn, paved the way for new species to thrive in what became
a transformed landscape The Gulf of Mexico. From alchemical iconographies and architectural landscapes to animals such as snakes and birds, and even his primary material stone itself Castro invites us on a journey of exploration through recreation and transformation.

Each element is strategically placed to support a dialogue that weaves stories. Through this, Marcos Castro communicates profoundly without using a single letter, grounding his heritage in clay.
